Not to be confused with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk is very sweet (and very sticky) and used primarily in desserts.

This perky pink dessert is always a favorite of kids and grownups. It uses a combination of cherry and strawberry pie fillings but you can use all of one flavor if you wish.
1 can (14 ounce size) sweetened condensed milk
2 cups drained crushed pineapple
1 can (21 ounce size) cherry pie filling
1 can (21 ounce size) strawberry pie filling (or use double the amount of cherry)
1 container (12 ounce size) Cool Whip whipped topping, thawed
3/4 cup chopped pecans
Stir together the sweetened condensed milk, pineapple, and pie fillings in a bowl. Fold in the cool whip and pecans.
Cover the bowl and place in the refrigerator until completely chilled.

A can of cream of mushroom soup can be a real dinner saver. It works great in casseroles and can turn into a sauce or gravy in a pinch.

Very easy to prepare, yet it still qualifies as a legitimate dessert, in my view. I thought it could end up too sweet, so for one of the pie fillings I used a reduced sugar variety. Perfect!

I couldn't find strawberry pie filling so I used two cans of cherry pie filling. I also doubled the recipe to 16 servings. Everyone really enjoyed it.
