Classic Mississippi Mud Cake

ingredients
1 cup margarine, softened
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
dash salt
4 eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 small bag miniature marshmallows
Icing
1 pound powdered sugar
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup margarine, softened
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
directions
Mix margarine, sugar, flour, cocoa, salt, eggs, baking powder nuts and vanilla well.
Bake in a greased and floured 9 X 13 pan at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes.
Immediately after removing for oven, pour 1 small bag of miniature marshmallows over cake. Press down gently.
Icing: Mix all ingredients well with a mixer and spread over marshmallows.

My grandmother used to make this and it was delicious! I didn't have her recipe so I was looking for something similar. I think this is it. I made it with butter instead of margarine, and after you bake the cake, you really need to break good size holes in it with the end of spatula so the glaze can really get down into the cake. It is very rich and would feed a lot more than 10. Great southern recipe!
do we use regular cake flour, self rising flour or all purpose.
