It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).

It's all about the ratio in this copycat Micky D's sauce. Make up a big batch so you can always have honey mustard on hand for chicken fingers, chicken sandwiches, and everything else chicken.
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
1 tablespoon Heinz 57 Sauce, optional
Combine the honey, mustard, and Heinz 57 sauce in a bowl. Mix well to combine. Use immediately or store in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to one month.
Whisk the ingredients until well combined.
Taste the sauce and adjust the sweetness or tanginess as desired.
Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor.
For a different twist, add a pinch of garlic powder or onion powder.
If possible, let the sauce sit for a few hours in the refrigerator before using to allow the flavors to meld.
Serve the sauce at room temperature for the best dipping consistency.
Try different ratios to find your perfect balance of honey and mustard flavors.
Label the container with the date of preparation for reference.
Use this sauce with chicken tenders, as a spread on sandwiches, on salads as a dressing, or as a dipping sauce for various appetizers (especially good with fried foods).
Yes, you can use dijon mustard or any other preferred mustard, but it will change the flavor a bit. Regular prepared (yellow) mustard will give the most authentic flavor.
You can use barbecue sauce or Worcestershire sauce as a substitute, but the taste will be slightly different.
You can but it won't have quite the same consistency when thawed.
Yes, add a small amount of hot sauce or cayenne pepper to taste.
Yes, it can be used as a marinade for chicken or pork. You can thin it a bit and add it to a ziptop bag to marinate the meat or just brush it on and let the meat chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or up to 4 hours. If used as a marinade, discard it after marinating. It can also be used as a salad dressing.
Add a small amount of water or vinegar to thin the sauce if desired.
Store in an airtight container or squeeze bottle in the refrigerator.

I don't know I've ever had MCDs honey mustard but this stuff is pretty good! Needed something to go with chicken tenders and this worked out brilliantly. Will 100% make again.

I add creamy Italian dressing and Dijon mustard and it tastes just like the McDonaldâs version

I took the suggestion of adding mayo and that made it wonderfully creamy (didn't alter anything else)

It was good, but I added a tbsp of mayonnaise & a dash of Chinese five spice ( I was out of cayenne) & it took it over the top. I will definitely make it again.

Great recipe. I was really glad to see this since the McDonald's in my area have moved on from this their classic honey mustard to a different kind, which is more like a brown mustard. Unlike the recipe for the McDonalds Hot Mustard on this site, this actually tastes like the real deal, and very easy to make.
