Smitty's Cream Cheese Danish

2 packages crescent rolls
2 packages (8 ounce size) cream cheese
2 cups sugar, divided
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 X 13 X 2 inch pan with Pam.
Unroll one package of roll dough, press into the bottom of baking dish, pressing seams together to seal. Cream together cream cheese and 1 and 1/2 cups sugar; add egg and vanilla and mix well.
Pour into baking dish. Unroll another package of roll dough, pressing seams together to seal. Place on top of cream cheese mixture. Sprinkle pecans and the remaining sugar over top; drizzle butter over top.
Bake one hour. Let cool completely before cutting.
