Fudgy Macadamia Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter or regular margarine, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate, melted and cooled
1 egg
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped macadamia nuts
Directions:
Heat oven to 350 F. Beat the sugar, butter, vanilla, chocolate, and egg in a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed or mix well using a wooden spoon.
Stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the nuts. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until almost no indentation remains when touched in the center. Cool for 1 to 2 minutes, then remove to wire racks to cool completely.
Cook's Note: Any nut may be substituted for macadamia nuts.
