reviews & comments
I believe the review which stated that their filling was too runny is due to the fact that there is possibly an error in the ingredients...most cherry mash recipes use on can of cherry cake frosting (found w/cake mixes)...not pie filling as stated in this recipe. I've made the same recipe using frosting and it came out perfectly.

I was so happy to have a recipe for "Cherry Mash" that didn't contain marshmallows as they have pork in them. (Called Kraft and they reported that marshmallows do but marshmallow cream does not.) But was disappointed when the cherry/marshmallow cream filling stayed so sticky/runny. I wonder if one could add melted cherry chips to the recipe or something that would stiffen it up some. Thanks for venturing into such a recipe w/o the Marshmallow, and w/o milk! Char
