Your dog will love you (even more) when you make these tasty peanut butter cookies for him! Made with honey, peanut butter, flour, egg, oil, baking soda, and oats.
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon peanut butter, creamy or chunky
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1 egg, well beaten
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup rolled oats (not instant)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a cookie sheet or line with parchment.
Combine the honey and peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir to combine the microwave about 10 seconds and stir again. Microwave 10 more seconds then stir.
Combine the flour, baking soda, and oats until mixed. Stir into the honey mixture. Stir in the vegetable oil until all is blended.
Drop the mixture by teaspoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheet. Bake for 8 minutes or until the cookies just start to brown.
Remove from oven and let cool on the cookie sheet for one minute, then remove to paper towels or a cooling rack until completely cooled. Store in an airtight container.

I baked these so they were slightly crispy and hard on the outside but still kinda soft on the inside. My dogs love them! I'm going to double the recipe next time and store them in the freezer.
In these recipes ,do you use all purpose flour or self rising, I have never made any dog treats before and wanted to try some of these recipes for my dog .Thanks

My yorkiepoo, Oreo loves these! I just finished the batch and he's been begging for one! My kitchen smells wonderful. I did flatten them slightly, as I know that my oven has trouble penetrating thicker things. They came out a bit soft (I had to get the "meal" out of the oatmeal), but are still good! I even tried one... they taste kinda like a graham-cracker to me. Anyway, if they were a bit harder, I think he'd enjoy them just the same. Overall, GREAT recipe!

My dogs love them! I just started making my own dog food after reading the horrible information that was given me to a friend about commercial dog food. Thanks for the recipe! I make 5x the amount because I have 2 dogs and I took the advice of flattening them and making them cookies.

MY dogs LOVED this recipie! I am going to make more tomorrow! I tweaked it so i could make cut-out shapes instead of little balls of dough, they came out perfect not hard and not soft! yummy enough for humans as well..

I only gave these three stars because I don't feel the directions were accurate. It was actually only one of the directions, but I think it was a pretty critical one! It states to spoon mixture one teaspoon at a time onto greased (or parchment lined) cookie sheets. I debated if I should flatten them, but I didn't. The cookies remained in the same shape, not spreading, and within four minutes, began to burn on the bottom. They were also not cooked all the way through. I went with my original thought, and flattened the remaining ones and they came out perfectly! Done in about 7-8 minutes. Golden on the bottom and cooked through.
