Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

ingredients
1 pound bulk hot Italian sausage
2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 green bell pepper
2 jalapeno peppers, optional
12 ounces fresh portobello mushrooms
1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons canola or olive oil
flour, for rolling
melted margarine
directions
Fry sausage until cooked thoroughly. Drain on paper towels. Dice all peppers. Saute in oil and drain on paper towels
Chop mushrooms, saute in butter and drain on paper towels.
When all vegetables and sausage are drained and cooled, combine in a bowl.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
On floured surface, roll bread dough into a rectangle. Cut into 30 squares. Place some of the sausage mixture in the middle of each square. Pinch the sides together to firmly seal.
Dip each piece in melted margarine and place in a Bundt or tube pan. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until golden brown.
