ingredients

1/2 cup sugar, divided
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 can (12 ounce size) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
1/2 cup butter, PLUS"PLUS" means this ingredient in addition to the one on the next line, often with divided uses
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted
extra large foil muffin cups

directions

Combine half the sugar and the cinnamon in a large bowl. Cut biscuits into fourths and add to sugar mixture; toss to coat. Set aside.

Melt butter in medium pan over medium heat. Add brown sugar and remaining sugar, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and pecans.

Arrange 5 coated biscuit pieces in a lightly greased foil muffin cup; place in a muffin pan. Repeat with remaining biscuit pieces. Drizzle evenly with pecan mixture.

Bake at 400 degrees F for 18 minutes or until golden.

  1. Dorris REVIEW:

Don't know why the other person had trouble. Recipe makes perfect sense to me. Turned out good. Liked the "bites" versus the normal monkey bread in the bundt pan.

  2. Chelsea REVIEW:

The recipe is written in a confusing way that made it hard to decipher when what ingredient was added. I never saw where the two separate portions of butter were added, and when I poured the glaze on the dough the first one received all butter and little to no sugar glaze. Perhaps the smaller portion was to add with the sugars but who could tell?! A bit of clarifying could go a long way with this one. However, an absolutely heavenly smell filled my kitched while these were baking and the overall taste was DELICIOUS.

    • The amount of butter isn't a divided use, it's 1/2 cup plus additional (to all be melted together)
