ingredients
2 whole breasts chicken, cut into 1-in cubes
1 medium onion, sliced thick
1 tablespoon cognac or arak
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
1 teaspoon salt
directions
Mix everything together and marinate at room temperature for a minimum of 1 hour or preferably in refrigerator overnight.
Put 4 or 5 cubes of chicken, without onion, on each metal skewer and broil over charcoal for 10 or 15 minutes.
Serve hot with Afghan bread, salad, and pickles.
