ingredients
1 pound ground beef
2 teaspoons mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon dried savory
2 cups biscuit mix
1/2 cup milk (about)
ketchup or tomato sauce
directions
Combine hamburger, mustard, salt, and savory. Shape into patties.
Combine biscuit mix and milk. Turn out onto sheet of waxed paper. Knead 6 times. Roll out 1/4" thick on a lightly floured pastry cloth or board.
Cut 12 circles the size of the patties (1 No. 2 can is about right).
Place 2 biscuit circles together shortcake fashion. Place patties and biscuits on a baking sheet or jelly roll pan.
Bake in a hot oven 400 degrees F for 15 minutes. Serve patties between biscuit shortcakes with ketchup or tomato sauce.
