1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
1 cup cream or milk
1 1/4 cup matzoh meal
1/4 cup melted butter or margarine
1/4 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice

* Gefilte fish is a poached fish dumpling prepared from a variety of mild fish (whitefish, pike, mullet, carp, etc.) bound together with matzoh meal, grated carrots, onions and spices such as salt, pepper, and a dash of sugar. Jars are found at the ethnic Jewish section of supermarkets.
Drain fish and mash well with fork. Mix all ingredients together (except eggs). Beat yolks together and blend into fish mixture. Beat whites stiff and fold gently into fish mixture.
Pour into a oiled tube or ring pan. Bake at 350 degrees F until firm (25 to 30 minutes). Loosen sides in pan and cool a few minutes in pan. Invert gently onto a serving platter and chill well.
Slice pieces, garnish with fresh chopped parsley and accompany with a creamy or plain horseradish sauce.

This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.
