Ranking #1 in nearly every "favorite cookie" poll, the chocolate chip cookie is pretty much the go-to cookie of choice for both kids and grownups alike.

A crunchy, savory snack made from your favorite cereals, pretzels, and nuts.
7 cups Kellogg's Crispix cereal
1 cup mixed nuts
1 cup pretzels
3 tablespoons melted butter
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon onion salt
2 teaspoons lemon juice
4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F.
Combine the Crispix cereal, nuts, and pretzels in a 9x13-inch baking dish.
In a bowl or measuring cup, mix together the melted butter, garlic salt, onion salt, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce. Drizzle evenly over the cereal mixture while stirring gently to coat.
Place the baking dish in the oven and bake at 250 degrees F for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
Spread the cereal mixture on paper toweling to cool and drain off excess butter. When cool, store in an airtight container.
This can be prepared in the microwave. After mixing all the ingredients, microwave on high for 4 minutes, stirring halfway through the cooking time.
Add a teaspoon of smoked paprika or curry powder in the seasoning mix.
Make to stir the cereal mixture well.
Cooling on paper towels helps to absorb any excess butter and keeps the mix crisp.
Try adding dried herbs like thyme or rosemary.
If using the microwave method, watch closely to avoid burning.
For added crunch, try adding roasted chickpeas or broken rice cakes.
This mix can be customized with your favorite seasonings - try garlic powder, seasoned salt, or a ranch seasoning mix.
To make a sweeter version, add a dash of cinnamon and a drizzle of honey before baking.
Keep the oven temperature low to avoid burning the mix.
Store the cooled snack mix in airtight containers to keep it crisp.
Add cheese-flavored crackers or popcorn for a twist.
For a spicier kick, add a sprinkle of cayenne pepper or a few dashes of hot sauce to the butter mixture.
Make sure the mixture cools completely before sealing in an airtight container to prevent moisture buildup.
Consider using a silpat mat or parchment paper on the baking dish to prevent sticking and for easier cleanup.
Yes, you can substitute with other similar cereals like Chex or any mix of your favorite cereals.
For a nut-free version, replace the nuts with seeds like pumpkin or sunflower seeds, or simply increase the amount of pretzels and cereal.
Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili powder to the seasoning mix for a spicy kick.
When stored in an airtight container at room temperature, Kellogg's Crispix Mix can stay fresh for about 2-3 weeks.
Yes, it can be frozen for longer shelf life, but note that the texture may change. Store in a freezer-safe container to prevent moisture buildup.
Baking helps to toast the ingredients, infusing their flavors and making sure the mix is crunchy rather than soggy. However, you can microwave it for a quicker version.
Using flavored pretzels or nuts can add an extra layer of taste and make the mix even more interesting.
If it starts to get soggy (usually if not stored in an airtight container), reheat the mix in the oven at a low temperature (around 200 degrees F) for a few minutes to help restore some crunch.
Baking Dish: A 9x13-inch baking dish is used to combine and bake the cereal, nuts, and pretzels to create the snack mix.
Measuring Cups and Spoons: For measuring the ingredients including the Crispix cereal, mixed nuts, pretzels, melted butter, and Worcestershire sauce.
Mixing Bowl or Measuring Cup: To mix the melted butter, garlic salt, onion salt, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce before drizzling it over the cereal mixture.
Stirring Utensil: A spoon or spatula for stirring the cereal mixture gently so that it gets evenly coated with the butter and seasonings.
Paper Towels: To spread the baked mixture on for cooling and to drain off excess butter after baking.
Airtight Container: To store the cooled Crispix mix, keeping it fresh.
Cheese Platter: Serve the Crispix Mix alongside a variety of cheeses for a balanced snack. The crunch of the mix contrasts nicely with the creaminess of cheeses.
Charcuterie Board: Pair the mix with cured meats like salami or prosciutto. The saltiness of the meats complements the savory flavors of the Crispix Mix.
Beer Pairing: Enjoy the mix with a cold beer, especially a pale ale or lager. The bitterness of the beer contrasts well with the salty and savory notes of the mix.
Taco Dip: Use the Crispix Mix as a topping on a layered taco dip. The crunch will add a nice texture to the creamy dip.
Sweet Treat: Mix with chocolate or caramel drizzle as a dessert snack. The sweetness will create an interesting contrast with the savory elements in the mix.

This is what I like, but Chex mix is good too

My favorite savory snack!

This was tasty and popular with our guests. It wasn't as salty as some of the store-bought Chex Mix snacks you find. My one complaint would be that the darn box of cereal that I bought was already about one-third crumbs when I opened it--probably the supermarket's fault.

I have been eating this since I was young!I have been living in Canada for 40 years. We used to go across the border to purchase three kinds of Chex Cereal to make this mix. I live in the north now and I use Crispix. Wonderful snack!!

We make this every year for Halloween to have to munch one while waiting for trick or treaters (better than eating all the candy that's lying around!). Just stopped back to print out a fresh copy of the recipe!

I've been searching all over for this! My mom made it every year around the holiday season. The lemon juice is key to the flavor. Thanks so much!
Easy, tasty, fast and great tasting. Will make again.
