Chayote Squash Basil Saute

ingredients
2 medium chayote squash, roughly diced
3 tablespoons butter
1 bunch basil
1 tablespoon unrefined sugar
1/2 medium white onion
1 tablespoon water
salt and pepper, to taste
directions
Saute white onion in 2 tablespoons of the butter until slightly soft. Add chayote squash dice to onions and saute until soft.
Add the water and let cook to enhance softness. Add basil and cook off water. Add sugar last and allow it to incorporate. Serve warm.
