This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.

1 1/2 pound white turnips, cooked and mashed
1 1/2 pound potatoes, cooked and mashed
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon white pepper (any type is really ok)
3 large eggs, beaten
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease a shallow 2 quart baking dish.
In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well. Mound the mixture into the prepared baking dish, leaving the surface "hilly". (The puree can be made several hours in advance up to this point. Cover tightly and refrigerate, then bring to room temp. before proceeding.)
Bake until the top is slightly puffed and nicely browned, about 30 minutes.
