ingredients
2 cups raw rice (Basmati, Arborio, etc.)
3 1/2 cups water or stock
1 1/2 teaspoon butter or oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
freshly ground black pepper
directions
Place all ingredients in a large glass bowl. Cover with a microwave-safe plate and microwave on high for 10 minutes, microwave on medium-low (defrost setting) for 15 minutes. Do not stir the rice at any time during the cooking process. Fluff with a fork just before serving.
