ingredients
4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup butter or margarine
2 eggs
1 1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup sour cream
directions
Sift together dry ingredients; set aside. In another bowl, cream butter; add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Add sugar and sour cream; mix well. Blend in dry ingredients.
Cover and chill dough one hour for easier handling.
Roll out on floured board; cut into desired shapes, decorating with colored sugars and cinnamon red hots.
Bake at 375 about 10 minutes or just until baked through.
