Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

I usually prefer alcoholic beverages for family get-togethers, but this was excellent! The spices really make it. I have a brother-in-law who never has anything to drink -- alcoholic or otherwise -- but he tried this and just loved it. I put it in a crock pot on low to keep it warm. It is also fine re-warmed in the microwave. A keeper for sure!
