Getting rid of the stench from stinky shoes isn't easy. You need something that will absorb the odor, not just mask it. This homemade remedy does just that. The baking soda (or cornstarch) will remove the odor from the shoes, the tea tree oil will help disinfect, and the lavender will have them smelling like new in no time.

5 drops lavender essential oil
5 drops tea tree essential oil
1 tablespoon baking soda or cornstarch
Combine all the ingredients adding more baking soda or cornstarch as needed to create a light powder. Stir well to combine.
Store the mixture in a shaker container (a cheap salt shaker with large holes works well).
To use, shake some of the powder into the shoes and tap the shoes to distribute it. Make sure to get some into the toes of the shoes. Let the shoes sit overnight or longer if possible.
Shake out the powder before wearing the shoes.
Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Tea tree oil can be poisonous if ingested.

The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.
