Sometimes a good cleaning makes a ring or necklace feel like a whole new piece. Ammonia, water, and dish soap are all you need for a home remedy to restore the shine.

ingredients

3 cups ammonia
1 cup water
3 drops liquid dish soap

directions

Combine the ammonia, water, and dish soap in a shallow bowl. Mix to dissolve the dish soap. Add jewelry (do not use on pearls) and let soak for 5 minutes. Optionally, you can scrub the jewelry with a clean toothbrush. Rinse well in cool water.
