Don't throw out old aluminum pans. Just give them a scrub with this cleaner and you will have your pans looking like brand new.
1/4 cup cream of tartar
1/4 cup baking soda
1/4 cup white vinegar
2 tablespoons soft soap liquid soap
To make the pan cleaner, combine the cream of tartar and baking soda until combined. Add the vinegar while stirring so it forms a soft paste. Stir in the liquid soap. This mixture can be stored in an airtight container. Label as aluminum pan cleaner and keep out of the reach of children.
To use the cleaner, rub a small amount of cleaner onto the aluminum pan. Scrub with fine grade steel wool. Rinse well then lightly wash with regular dish soap to remove any residue. Dry the pan immediately with a soft dish towel.
