Beer makes batters better, meat more tender, and sauces more flavorful.

2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon grated orange peel
1 cup orange juice
1 package (16 ounce size) fresh or frozen cranberries
Combine the sugar, orange peel, and orange juice in the crock pot. Stir to dissolve the sugar. Add the cranberries.
Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 6 hours or until the cranberries begin to pop. Mash the cranberries with the back of a spoon or potato masher. Place the cranberry relish in a serving dish, cover, and chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

It was a little more citrusy than I would have liked but everyone else seemed to enjoy it so I'm giving it five stars. If it were just for me I would maybe sub 1/4 cup of orange juice for water.

This was my first time cooking cranberries in a crock pot. It was easy and they turned out very tasty. I think though they are just as easy to cook on the stove since they don't take long. I'd probably reserve my crock pot for another use and just do them stovetop. The recipe is quite good and we enjoyed it.

Made this the last 4 years for Thanksgiving. Will be making it again. So easy and frees up my stovetop.
