A can of cream of mushroom soup can be a real dinner saver. It works great in casseroles and can turn into a sauce or gravy in a pinch.
Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

My daughter and I look for recipes once a week that she wants to try making herself (she's 12). She thought this sounded good but wanted to modify it (way to make a momma proud!). She cubed the chicken instead of leaving it whole. Cooked it on low for 6 hours then stirred in the cooked rice. She also wanted something spicier so she picked a spanish rice mix instead of the chicken flavored. When she served it she sprinkled grated mexican cheese blend on top.

This is one of those great throw it all together at the last minute kind of recipes. I just put the chicken in frozen and come home to delicious food. I use regular instant brown rice instead of the packaged mix and just add some seasonings to it and it actually cooks faster and is healthier.
