Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

The is awsome. My crock pot is in storage so I cooked the pork in my clay cooker, everything else exactly the same. The same was unusual, but addictive. Everyone that tasted it loved it and the fun part is you can tell them that there's root beer in it>
