ingredients

2 pounds pork tenderloin
1 can (10.75 ounce size) cream of mushroom soup
1 can (10.75 ounce size) golden mushroom soup
1 can (10.75 ounce size) French onion soup

directions

Place the pork tenderloin in the bottom of the crock pot. Cut the tenderloin to fit if needed.

In a bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, golden mushroom soup, and french onion soup. Mix well. Pour over the pork, coating it completely with the soup mixture.

Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until the meat is tender and cooked.

Remove the pork from the crock pot and place on a cutting board. Slice into medallions. Serve the pork with the sauce from the crock pot over mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice.

crock pot notes

Crock pots/slow cookers all heat differently. There is no standard among manufacturers. Cooking times are suggested guidelines based on our testing. Please adjust cooking times and temps to work with your brand and model of slow cooker.

recipe tips

Trim any excess fat and the silver skin from the pork tenderloin before cooking.

Sear the pork on all sides in a skillet before placing it in the crock pot for added texture and flavor.

Deglaze the pan with a little wine or broth after searing the pork and add this to the crock pot for more flavor.

You can include herbs like thyme or rosemary for additional flavor.

Let the pork rest for a few minutes after slicing for juicier meat.

For a healthier version, look for lower sodium and reduced-fat versions of the canned soups.

Cut the tenderloin into larger chunks or strips, if preferred, instead of slicing it into medallions.

The leftover sauce can be used as a gravy for other dishes.

Add a splash of dry sherry or white wine to the soup mixture for a richer taste.

common recipe questions

Can I use fresh mushrooms in addition to the canned soup?

Yes, adding fresh sliced mushrooms will enhance the flavor and texture. Saute them before adding to the crock pot.

Is there a substitute for the canned soups?

If you prefer not to use canned soups, a mixture of cream, broth, and mushroom base or concentrated flavor can be used as an alternative.

How can I thicken the sauce if it's too thin?

If the sauce is too thin, mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with cold water and stir it into the sauce. Let it cook for a bit to thicken.

Can I cook this recipe on high instead of low?

Yes, you can cook it on high for about 2-2.5 hours, but the meat may not be as tender as with the low and slow method.

How do I know when the pork tenderloin is done?

Pork tenderloin is done when its internal temperature reaches 145 degrees F. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy.

Can this dish be made ahead of time?

Yes, you can make it ahead and reheat it. The flavors often meld and deepen when reheated.

How do I store leftovers?

Store the leftovers in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or on the stove top in a skillet over medium-low heat.

Can this recipe be frozen?

It can be cooked and frozen, thawed overnight in the fridge and reheated. Or, freeze it uncooked. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator and heat as directed in the crock pot (for a freeze-ahead meal).

tools needed

Crock Pot/Slow Cooker: For cooking the pork tenderloin low and slow, allowing it to become tender and flavorful while you go about your day.

Cutting Board: To cut the pork tenderloin into medallions after it has finished cooking in the crock pot.

Bowl: To mix together the cream of mushroom soup, golden mushroom soup, and French onion soup before pouring over the pork tenderloin in the crock pot.

Spoon or Spatula: For mixing the soup mixture before pouring it over the pork in the crock pot.

Knife: To cut the pork tenderloin to fit in the crock pot, if necessary, and to slice it into medallions once cooked.

what goes with it?

Garlic Mashed Potatoes: the creamy richness of garlic mashed potatoes will soak up the delicious sauce from the pork tenderloin.

Green Bean Almondine: the crunch of the almonds and the freshness of the green beans will add a nice contrast to the rich and savory pork tenderloin.

Balsamic Glazed Carrots: the sweetness of the balsamic glaze will play off the savory flavors of the pork tenderloin.

beverage pairings

Wine Pairings
Chardonnay: The creamy, buttery notes in a Chardonnay would complement the richness of the mushroom soups while cutting through the fattiness of the pork tenderloin. Look for one with oak undertones for a little extra depth.

Pinot Noir: A light-bodied Pinot Noir could work wonders by adding a touch of fruity acidity to balance out the savory umami flavors of the mushroom soups.

Merlot: If you're looking for a red to cozy up with your pork tenderloin, a Merlot with its plummy, velvety character could be your go-to. Its soft tannins won't overpower the dish.

Other Alcohol Pairings
Dark Lager: The malty profile of a dark lager can stand up to the heartiness of the mushroom soups and the pork tenderloin. Its caramel and toasty notes can enhance the earthy flavors in the dish.

Whiskey Sour: The zesty kick of a Whiskey Sour can cut through the richness of the creamy soups while complementing the tender pork. It's a classic cocktail that can balance out the flavors in a fun, boozy way.

Hard Cider: A crisp, apple-infused hard cider could be a refreshing choice with this dish. Its effervescence and hint of sweetness can contrast the savory elements of the meal.

Non-Alcoholic Pairings
Orange Juice: The citrusy brightness of orange juice can provide a refreshing contrast to the creamy, savory mushroom soups and pork tenderloin.

Ginger Beer: If you're feeling a little spicy, a ginger beer could be a fun non-alcoholic option. The zingy ginger flavor can cut through the richness of the dish while adding a playful kick to your meal.

Should you adjust cooking time if pork is frozen Thank you

    • It's not advised to cook frozen meat in the crock pot. Because the crock pot heats slowly, bacteria can contaminate the meat before it reaches a safe temperature.

Another win for the slow cooker. Didn't serve it with the potatoes though, used egg noodles instead.

I've got this in the Crock Pot right now and I can hardly contain myself because it smells so good. I placed the Pork on a bed of onions, seasoned the meat with garlic, seasoned salt and pepper, Added fresh mushrooms with the mushroom soup and placed it on top of the meat. Serving it with mashed potatoes and a green vegetable. I can't wait til dinner.....

This was delicious and very easy. Pork stays moist and you get a nice gravy for side dishes. I served it with a sausage/apple/almond stuffing. Great for company or family. I will definitely make this again.

This is a wonderful recipe. Delicious and so easy to make. I season my meat with onion powder, garlic powder and pepper. I also use cream of mushroom soup with roasted garlic. This is now a family favorite.
