Beer makes batters better, meat more tender, and sauces more flavorful.

Copy the famous sauce that made Arby's popular. Use it on sandwiches or for dipping French fries.
1 cup water
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 cup white vinegar
3/4 teaspoon onion powder
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons cold water
Combine the water, ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and cayenne in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring frequently, for 20 minutes.
Combine the cornstarch and cold water in a small bowl and stir until smooth. Stir the cornstarch mixture into the saucepan and mix well. Stir constantly until the sauce begins to thicken, then reduce the heat to a very low simmer. Let cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
Remove the pan from the heat and let cool completely. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

Made exactly as recipe directed. It seemed like it was missing something. After reflecting on the taste of the original sauce it came to me. It needs clove. I added two whole cloves to the sauce and removed after cooking for 20 minutes, before adding the slurry. This gave it that extra tang that the original has and in my opinion tastes exactly like the original.

I miss Arby's. Haven't had it in years. The sauce is pretty close to what I remember. Now if I could only find a way to duplicate their thinly sliced roast beef.

Instead of making the cornstarch slurry just use only 1-2 tbsp of water in the sauce.
