ingredients

16 medium peaches
8 medium apples (Puritan, Tydeman, Granny Smith)
1 large onion, chopped
1 pound brown sugar
1 pound golden raisins
2 cups cider vinegar
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

directions

Peel, pit, and dice the peaches. Peel, core, and dice the apples.

Combine all the ingredients in a large kettle, cover, and bring to a boil. Remove the cover, reduce the heat to very low, and simmer for approximately 2 hours, until the chutney is thick and tender.

Ladle into hot, sterilized pint jars; leave 1/4 inch of headroom. Run a rubber spatula around the inside of the jar to release air bubbles. Wipe the rim of the jar with a clean cloth.

Cap each jar according to the manufacturer's instructions. Process for 10 minutes in a boiling-water bath.
