Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
Blue Cheese Walnut Muffins

ingredients
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk, room temp
1/3 cup butter, melted and cooled
1 egg, room temp
1/8 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1 cup coarsely crumbled blue cheese
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
directions
Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly butter muffin cups.
Stir together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, combine milk, butter, egg and Tabasco.
Make a well in flour mixture; add milk mixture and stir just until combined. Stir in cheese and nuts.
Spoon into buttered muffin cups. Bake 15-20 minutes (toothpick test). Cool 5 minutes on rack before removing muffins from pan.
