Biscuits just got a makeover. This cheddar-loaded biscuit bread is great with eggs, creamy grits, gravy - just about any savory breakfast you can imagine.
1 egg
1 1/2 cup milk
3 3/4 cups biscuit baking mix
1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
Add the egg to a mixing bowl. Mix on medium speed with a mixer until light. Add the milk, baking mix, and cheese and beat for another minute on medium speed.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Place in the oven and bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour or until the top is golden brown.
For extra cheesy flavor, add more cheese on top of the batter before baking.
Try adding other mix-ins like cooked bacon bits, chopped jalapenos, or caramelized onions.
To reheat leftover cheese bread, wrap it in aluminum foil and warm in a 350-degree F oven for 10-15 minutes.
Biscuit baking mix is a pre-mixed dry ingredient blend used as a shortcut for making biscuits or quick breads. Bisquick and Jiffy are common brand names.
You can substitute the Cheddar cheese with any other type of cheese you prefer, such as mozzarella, Swiss, or pepper jack.
You can use a gluten-free biscuit baking mix to make this recipe gluten-free.
This cheese bread goes well with soups, salads, as a side for breakfast, or as a snack on its own.
Feel free to add herbs like thyme, rosemary, or spices like onion or garlic powder to add other flavors.
Store any leftover cheese bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days, or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
You can freeze the cheese bread. Allow it to cool completely, then wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil before freezing for up to 3 months.
The cheese bread is done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.

Followed recipe exactly! Beautiful until you cut into it. Couldnât get a slice! Crumbled mess. Needs either more eggs, some oil, butter , margarine, something!! Waste of time......
Make sure you're not using pre-shredded cheese. That will make it drier.

When I used the bisquick recipe for Banana Nut Bread, I thought this recipe would turn out just as well, however Im not sure I perhaps I did not do something correctly, but this bread turned out rather dry and had the consistincy of corn bread. Perhaps it just needs some oil or butter for moisture, since it doesnt call for any in the recipe as well as lessining the amount of bisquick that it calls for
