4 pounds lean beef short ribs
1 large tomato, chopped
1 cup beef broth
1/4 cup red wine
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 black pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
3 tablespoons cornstarch
3 tablespoons water

directions

In a slow cooker, combine ribs, tomato, broth, wine, onion, horseradish, salt, pepper, and the ginger. Cover and cook on Low for 6 to 7 hours. Remove meat from the cooker, cover, and keep warm.

Turn the control on High. Dissolve cornstarch in water in a small bowl. Stir in constarch mixture into the cooker. Cover and cook on High for 15 to 20 minutes or until sauce is thickened. Spoon sauce over meat.

    This was good but not outstanding. It did not have the depth of flavors I was hoping for. I followed it just like the recipe said....next time I will add garlic to the recipe. I will let it cook even longer also. It can be improved but it is good.

    Great recipe! I braised the ribs in 1/2 unsalted butter and 1/2 olive oil, before putting them in the crock pot. Family is already asking for it again.
