Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
1 can (16 ounce size) jellied cranberry sauce
1 envelope onion soup mix
In a small bowl, combine the cranberry sauce and onion soup mix.
Place the chicken in the bottom of the crock pot. Evenly spread the cranberry mixture over the top of the chicken.
Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 5 hours or on high for 2-3 hours or until the chicken is cooked through.
Serve hot.
Note: This recipe has been modified from the original version to work in newer crock pots.

Keeping a can of frozen orange juice concentrate in the freezer means you can make more than just orange juice. Try it in a variety of orange-flavored recipes.
It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).

can u use a whole chicken instead of chicken breasts?
You should be able to alter the recipe to do that. Let us know how it turns out if you try it and how you adjusted the cooking time and/or ingredients
Do you add water to soup mix
No, just use the dry mix
CAN U YOU SUBSTITUTE WHOLE CRANBERRY SAUCE INSTEAD OF JELLIED CRANBERRY SAUCE?
Yes, it will just have a different texture but it will work just fine.
CAN YOU USE THAWED CHICKEN BREASTS?
Yes, and in fact, we recommend using thawed, not frozen. However, you'll have to adjust the cooking time and a lot of that will depend on your crock pot (how "hot" it heats).

This is one of those recipes that sounds kind of gross and weird but is really delicious. I've used both the whole berry sauce and the jellied and I think I prefer the whole berry because it adds more texture. I don't cook it all day though, more like 5 hours. Try it, you'll be amazed!
