Slow Cooker Lemon Herb Roasted Chicken

ingredients
1/4 cup chopped onions
4 pounds whole fryer or roasting chicken
2 tablespoons margarine or butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon fresh parsley or dried parsley flakes
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1 lemon, juiced
directions
Place the chopped onion in the cavity of the chicken. Rub the skin of the chicken with the soft butter. Season the bird on all sides with the salt, parsley, thyme, and paprika.
Place the chicken in the crock pot and squeeze the lemon over it evenly.
Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the chicken is cooked through.
Remove carefully from the crock pot and cut into serving pieces.
