1 lemon
1 whole roasting chicken (to fit in slow cooker)
1/2 cup honey (optional)
1/2 cup fresh orange or lemon juice
directions
Rinse and dry chicken. Pierce the lemon with fork and place in the chicken cavity. Place chicken in slow cooker. Combine honey (if using) with the orange or lemon juice and pour over the chicken. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.

This recipe is precisely what I was looking for! I will add some fresh rosemary and some choped up taters as well -- new potatoes would be ideal. Yumm! So glad to find this recipe here. Very simple and very tasty.
