Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

These were wonderful. I gave it a 4 only because the blender tip, was a bad tip, at least for me. The flavor was great. My family loved them. I made them in the same day. I would like to have them sit in the gravy for a really long time on a low crockpot setting. Mmmmm.
