ingredients
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup sugar
4 teaspoons all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg
1 cup water
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
2 tablespoons lemon juice
directions
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Stir in the sugar, flour, and nutmeg and continue stirring until smooth.
Stir in the water, lemon zest, and lemon juice and mix until everything is incorporated.
Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thick and bubbly.
Serve over cake, bread pudding, or your favorite dessert.
