This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.

A sauce so good you'll be finding all sorts of new uses for it. Egg rolls and chicken are a given, but stir fries would also go great with this pineapple and apricot sauce.

1 1/2 cup apricot nectar
1 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 pinch ground ginger
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons vinegar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Combine the apricot nectar, pineapple juice, brown sugar, honey, salt, ground ginger, and soy sauce in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil then reduce the heat. Cook, stirring frequently, until the brown sugar is dissolved.
Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vinegar and granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Let the sauce cool completely then store in a covered container in the refrigerator until ready to use (it will thicken more as it chills).

The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.
