Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

This is a great recipe! I was out of ingredients for the sauce I usually make and it was too late to go to the store, and thankfully I already had everything I needed for this recipe. It was very simple to make, the only hard part was giving it the 20 minutes or so it took to thicken up. The flavor is wonderful and the consistency is perfect. I store the leftovers in a mason jar in the fridge then to reheat it I place the jar in a pot of water on the stove and let the water simmer for a while till the sauce is heated through again. This has definitely earned a spot in my "in a pinch" favorite recipes! Thanks so much for sharing it!
