1 package Oreo cookies
1/4 cup butter or margarine
8 ounces cream cheese
2 packages (large size) instant vanilla pudding mix plus milk called for on box
2 cups milk
8 ounces Cool Whip
directions
Crush the cookies in a blender or food processor; set aside. Cream together the butter and cream cheese.
In a large bowl, mix the pudding and milk until smooth. Add cream cheese mixture and Cool Whip. Beat together until mixed.
In an 8 inch flower pot, layer the cookie mixture, then the pudding mixture, then the cookie mixture, and so on. End up with the cookie mixture (this looks like dirt). Add an artificial flower in top.

I thought I would make this as a preview to see whether it would be a good choice for my daughter's upcoming Halloween party. It was fun looking, not too gross looking, and what's not to like about pudding, Oreos, and whipped cream?? Just use a *brand new* flower pot. Any actual dirt stains really would make it gross.

I normally wouldn't even think about trying a dish like this, but my best friend pratically forced me to taste it. Now, I have to make a dirt cake almost every weekend for my family and I.

This is really good, but I doubled the recipe in order to have 12 servings, and I ended up with 3 bowls of dirt cake! Wish I had known!
