It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).

What better way to enjoy apples, even when it's not apple season, than with homemade crock pot applesauce.

10 medium Golden Delicious apples
1/2 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Peel, core, and chop the apples. Place in the crock pot with the water.
Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 4-6 hours or until the apples are very tender.
Add the sugar to the crock pot and mix well. Cover the crock pot and cook for 30 more minutes. Stir in the cinnamon.
Use the applesauce warm or chill in a covered container. The applesauce will keep, chilled, for up to 3 days.

I added a little more cinnamon towards the end of the cooking time. Easy and tasty recipe!
