Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
Szechuan Broccoli

ingredients
1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoons sesame seeds
nonstick cooking spray
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
1/4 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper
1/2 teaspoon peeled, minced ginger root
2 cloves garlic, minced
5 cups coarsely chopped broccoli
directions
Combine first 3 ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
Place a large nonstick skillet or wok over medium heat until hot. Add sesame seeds and cook 1 minute or until browned. Remove seeds and set aside.
Coat skillet with cooking spray. Add oil and place over medium-high heat until hot. Add red pepper, ginger root, and garlic. Saute for 30 seconds. Add broccoli and saute for 1 minute. Add soy sauce mixture, stirring well.
Cover and cook 2 minutes or until broccoli is crisp-tender. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.

The cider vinegar overpowered the flavor just a little for our tastes. Overall the recipe was very good.
