ingredients
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/3 cup cornstarch
1 1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups milk
3 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 baked and cooled (9 inch size) pie crust
Cool Whip
directions
Combine the cocoa, cornstarch, sugar, and salt in a saucepan. Stir well. Whisk in the milk until smooth.
Place the pan over medium heat and bring to a boil stirring constantly. Remove from the heat and stir in the butter and vanilla.
Pour the filling into the pie crust. Place in the refrigerator until chilled, about 2 hours.
Use the Cool Whip to decorate the top of the pie as a ghost. Add chocolate chips for eyes, if desired.
Store the leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
