2 onions
1 large head cabbage
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon mustard seed
3/4 cup salad oil
1 cup vinegar
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon celery seed
Chop cabbage and onion and toss together.
Heat oil, vinegar, salt, sugar, seeds. Bring to boil. Pour over cabbage - onion mixture.
Chill 24 hours. Stir and serve.

Made this yesterday and just tasted it now before our friends arrive. Very good and I loved that I got to make it ahead of time. The flavors had time to really emerg and develop.

This is a great recipe. I made it for 40 people last labor day. 1. It tastes great. None was left. 2. We can finally make cole slaw ahead of time! 3. There is not mayonnaises to spoil. This is the prefect cole slaw for several reasons.
