Not to be confused with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk is very sweet (and very sticky) and used primarily in desserts.

Coleslaw with a kick! It's made with shredded cabbage that's tossed with a spicy dressing along with vegetables and two kinds of jalapenos.
Dressing
1 1/2 tablespoon salt, or to taste
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons juice from the jar of pickled jalapeno peppers in the slaw
1 1/2 teaspoon favorite hot sauce
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
Slaw
1 small green cabbage, cored and shredded
2 carrots, peeled and grated or shredded
1 red bell pepper, seeded and thinly slivered
1 green bell pepper, seeded and thinly slivered
3 fresh jalapeno peppers, seeded and thinly sliced (for a hotter slaw, leave the seeds in)
2 tablespoons minced pickled jalapeno peppers
Prepare the dressing. Combine the salt and garlic in a large mixing bowl and mash to a paste with the back of a spoon. Add the next 8 ingredients; whisk until the sugar and salt are dissolved. Correct the seasoning, adding salt or sugar to taste. The dressing should be highly seasoned.
Stir in the remaining ingredients and toss to mix. Let the slaw stand for at least 10 minutes or as long as 4 hours before serving.

This is the best slaw I've ever eaten!

Husband and friends really enjoy this slaw with a combination of flavors and warmth. It is just the right degree of hot for eating with soup in the winter or with barbque in the summer. The colors are pleasing to the eye, but it's the combination of flavors that keep me coming back to this recipe.
