Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

I bought the same cookbook back in the 80s and mine never called for milk at all. Itâs still the most popular banana bread recipe that every one loves ❤️
Being, you are correct, this is the recipe from Chatelaine's Adventure in Cooking Cook book. And yes the 1/2 cup of Milk is missing from the recipe ingredients listed above! I have made this recipe hundreds of times, I now omit the gumdrops and orange rind (son does not like them in it) and sub Best Brown Sugar for the sugar called for. And a dash of Homemade Vanilla is nice too!
To whom ever posted this recipe, greetings, A few yrs back, I had given away my 1980's Chatelaine recipe book but a month ago when I wanted to bake some banana bread, I remembered a banana gumdrop loaf recipe from that book. In my online search for the recipe, I found yours and printed it off and today as I was mixing the ingredients, I recalled putting in 1/2 cup milk, yet your recipe didn't call for it. Every other ingredient is exactly as I remember it. Could this be a missed ingredient in typing out the recipe? I decided to wait to message you until after the taste test. My hubby said, without the milk it would be a pound cake rather than a loaf and I agree. Thank you and happy baking, Gracie
