ingredients

1 package (12 ounce size) fresh cranberries
1 cup snipped dried figs
6 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups oats
1 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup melted butter

Lemon Glaze

1 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice

directions

Combine cranberries, figs and honey is a saucepan. Cook over medium heat until cranberries pop, stirring often. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Stir in melted butter.

Put half of this mixture into the bottom of an 9 x 13 x 2 inch baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees F for 8 minutes.

Remove from oven and spread cranberry fig mixture on top of baked layer. Sprinkle remaining oat mixture evenly on top and pat gently. Return to oven for 20 minutes until golden. Allow to cool on a wire rack.

For Lemon Glaze: Combine powdered sugar with lemon juice. Drizzle over top of bars.
