The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

ingredients
1 package (8 ounce size) egg noodles
1/3 cup butter
2/3 cup grated American or Parmesan cheese
paprika, for garnish
OR
pimiento bits, for garnish
directions
Cook noodles as directed on package. Drain.
Meanwhile, melt butter in large saucepan. Add noodles and toss lightly.
Turn out on platter and sprinkle with cheese. Garnish with paprika or pimiento.
