Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

I suspect the bad review came from someone who used 3 cups of UNCOOKED rice instead of 2 cups of cooked rice.

I think the other reviewer must have been on crack. This recipe was delicious. There isn't anything wrong with this recipe at all. In fact, I think it probably only really serves two people unless you have lots of side dishes, not the six the other reviewer was complaining about.

When I read this recipe I loved all of the ingredients! But did question the servings of 4, when you were using 3 cups of rice plus the other ingredients. Well, the casserole was awful. We picked out the turkey and threw everything away. Six people could have eaten this had it been any good.
Why was it awful? Please be more specific so others will understand what it was you didn't like about it.
