Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
Orange Turkey Thighs

ingredients
2 turkey thighs, skin removed
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
1/2 cup orange juice
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon grated orange peel
directions
Sprinkle both sides of turkey thighs with onion powder and white pepper. Place in baking dish. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over turkey.
Cover with waxed paper and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Reduce power to 50% (medium) and microwave for 20 to 30 minutes longer or until meat is tender and is no longer pink. (Turkey can be basted during cooking with orange sauce.) Cut meat off bones and serve with sauce.
