ingredients
1 pound ground beef
6 slices bacon
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
3/4 cup uncooked regular long-grain rice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup ketchup
1 can (16 ounce size) tomatoes, undrained, cut up
1 can (8 ounce size) tomato sauce
2 drops hot pepper sauce
directions
In large skillet, brown ground beef; drain well. Remove meat from skillet and set aside.
In same skillet, cook bacon until crisp. Remove bacon; drain, reserving 2 tablespoons drippings in skillet. Crumble bacon; set aside.
Saute onion and green bell pepper in reserved drippings until crisp-tender. Stir in ground beef, crumbled bacon, and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil; cover and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes or until rice is tender.
