ingredients

1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 3/4 cup water
1 cup barbecue sauce
2 cups instant white rice, uncooked
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

directions

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and onion. Cook, stirring frequently, until the beef is no longer pink. Drain off any excess grease.

Add the water and barbecue sauce to the skillet. Bring to a boil.

Stir the rice into the skillet. Cover the skillet and reduce the heat to a low simmer. Let cook for 5 minutes.

Remove the lid and sprinkle beef and rice with the cheese. Cover the skillet and turn off the heat. Let sit for 5 minutes or until the cheese has melted.

Serve hot.

Looks good and I would not change a thing.

  2. Meg REVIEW:

I used a spicy bbq sauce and added mushrooms.

  3. Guest Foodie REVIEW:

I thought it was good. However, I would go a little less BBQ sauce, or a quite mild tasting one. Maybe some green peppers? haha I have a feeling this would be good cold, or on a bun kinda thing.

  4. newbie REVIEW:

it was easy to make and tasted great
